Supporting Creativity, Funding Possibilities
We achieve this by supporting, facilitating, and sponsoring performances, exhibitions, classes, and other arts-related events, in Lee County, North Carolina.
Funding for our grantmaking is generously provided through the North Carolina Arts Council, the North Carolina Community Foundation, and the City of Sanford as well as a number of businesses and individual donors.
2025-26 Grassroots Arts Program (GAP) Grants

Applications are accepted during the period of June 2 through August 29, 2025.
Description
Grassroots Arts Programs subgrants are awarded to organizations based in Lee County to carry out programs within the county. Examples of arts programs include performances, art exhibitions, festivals, arts camps, fees for classes or workshops to qualified artists, etc. Arts organizations may also apply for operating expenses such as rent, utilities, staff salaries, etc.
Information Session
The Lee County Arts Council will host a Grassroots Arts Program Grant information session to help potential grantees familiarize themselves with the program and prepare their applications. The session will be held via Google Meet on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. Register for the session HERE. Details about joining the meeting will be automatically emailed to those registered.
