Supporting Creativity, Funding Possibilities

We achieve this by supporting, facilitating, and sponsoring performances, exhibitions, classes, and other arts-related events, in Lee County, North Carolina.

Funding for our grantmaking is generously provided through the North Carolina Arts Council, the North Carolina Community Foundation, and the City of Sanford as well as a number of businesses and individual donors.

2025-26 Grassroots Arts Program (GAP) Grants

Application Period Opening
Applications are accepted during the period of January 15 through Jan. 31, 2026. 

Description

Grassroots Arts Programs subgrants are awarded to organizations based in Lee County to carry out programs within the county. Examples of arts programs include performances, art exhibitions, festivals, arts camps, fees for classes or workshops to qualified artists, etc. Arts organizations may also apply for operating expenses such as rent, utilities, staff salaries, etc.

Annual Grassroots Arts Program (GAP) Grants support quality arts programs in the performing, visual, literary, and traditional arts that meet community needs, encourage growth and creativity, and bring together people from diverse places and backgrounds.
